Installation
The SSR-205 is designed for simple and flexible installation in both new and existing access control systems. It connects directly to Saflec Systems SDC controllers using either OSDP RS-485 communication or standard Wiegand wiring, depending on system requirements.
The reader should be mounted on a stable surface at a suitable height for user interaction. Wiring connections are made according to the system configuration, ensuring correct OSDP or Wiegand setup. Once installed, the device is powered through the controller or external power supply as specified by the system design.
Configuration is completed via the SACS software interface, allowing easy setup of communication parameters, access modes, and device addressing.
Operation
During operation, the user presents a compatible access card or enters a PIN using the integrated keypad. The SSR-205 captures the credential data and transmits it securely to the connected door controller for verification against predefined access rules.
The controller processes the authentication request and returns the access decision to the reader. The SSR-205 then provides immediate feedback through LED indicators and an integrated buzzer, clearly indicating whether access has been granted or denied.
