Installation
The SSI-302-H is thoughtfully designed to prioritize user-friendliness and flexibility, offering a comprehensive and streamlined access control solution for your convenience.
Communication with the SDC-650 Multiple Door Controller or SDC-620 Wiegand Door Controller is seamless, facilitated by the RS-485 Reader Network through the onboard connector. Each device is assigned a unique device address via an onboard LED display and configuration button. Once communication is established, any 3rd-party Wiegand compatible device can be connected to the unit and the device can be effortlessly configured as a reader using the intuitive SACS Connect Software.
Operation
The SSI-302-H Wiegand Interface Board operates by connecting to the RS-485 Reader Network ports on the SDC-650 Multiple Door Controller or SDC-620 Ethernet Controller and converts the Wiegand protocol communications of 3rd-party Wiegand devices to the native propriety RS-485 communications or OSDP protocol.

In addition, the SSI-302-H supports the OSDP protocol, allowing it to operate as a legacy Wiegand-to-OSDP converter for improved compatibility with newer security platforms and access control solutions. This added flexibility makes the device suitable for a wide range of installation requirements and system configurations.
Designed with advanced power isolation capabilities, the SSI-302-H allows connected Wiegand devices to operate using a separate power supply, helping to minimise potential grounding issues and improve overall network stability. To maintain full electrical isolation, the device should be powered using a 12VDC supply on both the RS-485 and Wiegand device sides. Where required, isolation override jumpers can be used to link power between both sides; however, power levels must remain within safe operating limits to prevent possible damage to connected equipment.
The integrated 8-segment display and configuration button provide a simple and convenient way to manage RS-485 network addressing, monitor device status, and complete device configuration quickly and efficiently. This makes installation, setup, and ongoing maintenance easier for system installers and administrators.
