Installation
The SDC-320 Controller is designed with ease of installation and flexibility in mind, delivering a streamlined and efficient access control solution.
The controller cabinet includes a detailed connection diagram on the inside of the door, providing clear guidance for reader, input, and output wiring. A Quickstart Guide is also supplied with the unit to assist with setup.
The dual-mode relays can be configured as either powered outputs or potential-free contacts using onboard jumpers, allowing flexible integration with a wide range of locks and electrical devices.
Communication with the SACS Server is achieved via standard TCP/IP over LAN/WAN using the onboard RJ45 port. The system supports both DHCP and static IP addressing, with initial network configuration accessible through the onboard OLED display. Once connected, system configuration for doors, readers, and access rules can be managed through the SACS software platform.
Diagnostic LEDs are positioned near key terminals to assist with installation and troubleshooting. End-of-line resistor support is also integrated via onboard jumpers, eliminating the need for external termination components.
Operation
The SDC-320 Controller operates by synchronising in real time with the SACS Server. Any configuration changes made on the PC are immediately updated to the controller.
When a user presents a credential at a reader, the controller processes the information locally, identifies the user, and either grants or denies access based on the programmed rules and permissions.

The SDC-320 is an intelligent Ethernet (TCP/IP) system controller designed to significantly enhance modern access control capabilities. It serves as the successor to the legacy SDC-220 controller, introducing a range of advanced design improvements and enhanced functionality, including integrated Micro SD support for expanded storage capacity, an intuitive OLED control module for simplified setup and local diagnostics, and full compatibility with secure OSDP communication channels.
The controller is equipped with two (2) relay outputs (potential-free contact/powered output) and four (4) programmable digital inputs. This allows it to efficiently manage a variety of access configurations, including two standard doors, a single bi-directional turnstile, or one booth/mantrap setup. It is also designed with maximum flexibility, supporting up to four readers in total, with two (2) Wiegand readers connected via the onboard Wiegand interfaces and an additional two (2) RS-485/OSDP readers connected through a multi-drop RS-485 reader network.
In addition to its standalone functionality, the SDC-320 can be seamlessly networked with other SDC-320, SDC-620, or SDC-650 controllers to form a fully scalable and centrally managed access control system. This is achieved through a robust isolated multi-drop RS-485 controller network that is engineered to withstand electrical surges of up to 2.4kV, ensuring reliable and stable communication.
The system provides centralized management of configuration settings, user access permissions, and event reporting through the SACS platform. At the same time, each controller retains independent decision-making capability and local event storage, ensuring continued operation even if communication with the SACS Server is temporarily disrupted. Once connectivity is restored, all stored events are automatically synchronised with the central server.
The SDC-320 is supplied with a 15Vdc 5A power supply and a 7Ah battery backup, all housed within a secure lockable enclosure for added protection and reliability. For flexible installation requirements, the controller is available either as a complete cabinet unit or as a standalone PCB, depending on deployment needs.
