About the product
The Architect® Blue Keypad Reader stands out as a secure, vandal-proof card reader that seamlessly integrates RFID, Bluetooth®, and NFC technologies alongside a resilient capacitive vandal-proof keypad. Thanks to its various operating modes (card AND key or card OR key), you can use the keypad to effectively identify people.
With its versatile identification modes, this reader excels in recognizing mobile phones through various Prox or handsfree methods, providing a flexible alternative or complement to traditional RFID access cards. Enhanced data protection and privacy are ensured through the integration of an EAL5+ crypto processor.
Elevate your access experience by converting your smartphone into an access card – just activate Bluetooth and effortlessly present your phone to the reader. There are various identification modes to make your access options both secure and much more intuitive! These diverse identification modes offer both security and intuitive access options, ensuring a tailored and efficient experience.
The various modes of identification are:
- Card Mode – by placing your smartphone in front of the reader.
- Tap Tap Mode – by tapping your smartphone twice in your pocket for near or remote opening.
- Remote Mode – by using your smartphone as a remote control.
- Hands-free Mode – by simply passing in front of the reader.
Installation
The Architect® Blue Keypad Reader can be seamlessly connected to our range of top-of-the-line controllers, including the SDC-650 Multiple Door Controller (via OSDP), the SDC-620 Wiegand Door Controller (via Wiegand/OSDP), and the SDC-320 Wiegand Two Door Controller (via Wiegand). In addition, it can be connected to the SEB-722 remote IO expansion board (via Wiegand).
Operation
When a user presents their smartphone/card at the reader, the reader transmits the corresponding user identifier number to the door controller for analysis. The controller then determines the access permission, based on predetermined access rules, which is subsequently conveyed to the reader. The reader, in turn, provides the appropriate feedback to the user through the use of its LED display and buzzer signals, reflecting the determined access permission status.
