Remote I/O Expansion Board

Product Code: SEB-722

The SEB-722 Remote I/O Expansion Board extends the Input and Output functionalities of the SDC-650 Multiple Door Controller and the SDC-620 Wiegand Door Controller. Additionally, it enables the relocation of inputs and outputs closer to the door, which can help mitigate significant voltage drops when the controller is mounted further away.

With three distinct reader configurations, the SEB-722 Remote IO Door Expansion Board offers enhanced flexibility in access control system design.

Key Features

  • RExtends the capabilities of the SDC-650 and the SDC-620 Controllers
  • R2 Relay Outputs (powered or potential-free)
  • R4 Programmable digital inputs
  • R2 Wiegand reader inputs
  • RRS-485 connection for up to 4 x SSR-201 Proximity Readers
  • RIn-circuit programming for easy product updates
  • RRotary coded address switch for easy addressing

About the product

The SEB-722 is a highly versatile device designed to augment the input and output capabilities of the SDC-650 Multiple Door Controller and the SDC-620 Wiegand Door Controller. It achieves this by seamlessly integrating with the RS-485 Reader Network of these controllers, as well as other RS-485 devices.

With the SEB-722, users gain the ability to remotely control doors, relocate inputs and outputs closer to the door, and mitigate voltage loss, especially when the controller is installed at a considerable distance. This enhanced flexibility empowers users to tailor access control systems to specific requirements with ease.

Featuring three distinct reader configurations, the SEB-722 Remote I/O Door Expansion Board further amplifies flexibility in access control system design, accommodating various operational scenarios effortlessly.

Key features of the device include 2 relay outputs (internal and external mode) and 4 digital inputs, offering users comprehensive control and monitoring capabilities.

Moreover, the SEB-722 facilitates direct connections to up to 4 additional RS-485 devices and 2 Wiegand devices via the slave network and Wiegand interfaces, respectively. This capability allows for the seamless integration of up to 16 devices with the SDC-650 or SDC-620 Controllers, ensuring scalability and adaptability to evolving access control needs.

Installation

The SEB-722 is thoughtfully designed to prioritize user-friendliness and flexibility, offering a comprehensive and streamlined access control solution for your convenience.

The device cabinet is fitted with a comprehensive connection diagram on the inside of the cabinet door, providing clear and concise guidance on reader, input, and output connections. A Quickstart Guide is also provided with the unit.

Communication with the SDC-650 or SDC-620 Controllers is seamless, facilitated by the RS-485 Reader Network through the onboard connector. Each device is assigned a unique device address via an onboard rotary switch. Once communication is established, managing access control configurations for doors, readers, and more becomes effortless using the intuitive SACS Connect Software.

For a trouble-free installation experience, diagnostic LEDs are strategically placed close to their relevant terminals, providing valuable support and guidance. End-of-line resistors can be effortlessly integrated into the RS-485 Reader Network circuit using the indicated jumpers, eliminating the need for external terminating resistors.

The dual-mode relays can be set as powered outputs or potential-free relays (using the indicated jumpers), for you to easily switch any lock or electrical device, ensuring maximum control and flexibility over your access control infrastructure.

Operation

The SEB-722 Remote I/O Expansion Board operates by connecting to the RS-485 Reader Network ports on the SDC-650 Multiple Door Controller or SDC-620 Ethernet Controller and expands the remote input, output and access control capabilities of the Controller. Once connected and configured, the SEB-722 can receive inputs from external devices, such as door contacts or motion sensors, and send outputs to devices such as locks or buzzers.

In addition, it facilitates direct connections to up to 4 additional RS-485 Readers and 2 Wiegand devices via the slave network and Wiegand interfaces for controlling access at the remote location.
