About the product
The SSI-302-H Isolated Wiegand Interface Board seamlessly integrates Wiegand-compatible devices into the RS-485 reader network of the SDC-650 Multiple Door Controller, SDC-620 Wiegand Door Controller and the SEB-722 Remote I/O Expansion Board, ensuring smooth, reliable communications between the devices. It functions as a proximity reader emulator on the RS-485 network while maintaining a Wiegand host connection on the Wiegand side, effectively bridging communication between the two standards.
Additionally, the board supports the OSDP protocol, allowing it to function as a legacy Wiegand-to-OSDP converter for modern security systems.
Designed with power isolation, this device allows Wiegand devices to operate on a separate power supply, preventing grounding issues on the network side. However, to maintain isolation, the unit should be powered by a 12VDc source on both the RS-485 and Wiegand device sides. If necessary, the isolation override jumpers can be used to link the power between both sides; however, users must ensure that power levels remain within safe limits to avoid damage.
The unit incorporates an 8-segment display and configuration button to simplify RS-485 network addressing, status monitoring, and device configuration.

Installation
The SSI-302-H is thoughtfully designed to prioritize user-friendliness and flexibility, offering a comprehensive and streamlined access control solution for your convenience.
Communication with the SDC-650 Multiple Door Controller or SDC-620 Wiegand Door Controller is seamless, facilitated by the RS-485 Reader Network through the onboard connector. Each device is assigned a unique device address via an onboard LED display and configuration button. Once communication is established, any 3rd-party Wiegand compatible device can be connected to the unit and the device can be effortlessly configured as a reader using the intuitive SACS Connect Software.
Operation
The SSI-302-H Wiegand Interface Board operates by connecting to the RS-485 Reader Network ports on the SDC-650 Multiple Door Controller or SDC-620 Ethernet Controller and converts the Wiegand protocol communications of 3rd-party Wiegand devices to the native propriety RS-485 communications or OSDP protocol.
